Save the Melksham Train
Santa Special - 30th November - 17:15 from Melksham to Swindon and back. See here

There is no service improvement from December 2008, in spite of all the work done by many parties. The timetable remains dire, with the only trains linking the five major population centres of Wiltshire leaving from Swindon at 06:15 and 18:45, when an appropriate service would run throughout the day (that's agreed by all major players). By public transport, it can take 2 hours to cover the 40 miles from Swindon to Salisbury!

But we still have a train service (and we still have a station in Melksham, served only by this line) and we're already talking to the County Council and to the Department for Transport and First Great Western about something better for 2009! Many thanks to all our supporters - keep watching and we CAN get a proper service.
