Melksham Station Approach It isn't obvious that Melksham station's down there at the end of this road, is it? And yet, here on the right, is the sign board that has a map for people arriving directing them to the town. Perhaps a sign at the station to say where this sign is would be a good idea ;-) Good information all of it ... just a pity it's about 100 yards up the road from the station and you have to know the sign is there. Wouldn't it be better to have something on this board about the trains so that passers by on the road and on foot are reminded, and move the Melksham information to the station where it would be available to people arriving. I know I've seen people getting off trains and looking around in bewilderment! Recent signage; excellent work; I hope it's not too late. Here's another opportunity missed. The main road runs past the station approach and there's an hourly bus to the town centre, Bowerhill, Sells Green and Devizes, and another hourly bus to Atworth and Box. All places with no train service. What a shame there isn't a bus stop for quite a way. |
