About the author and site

Whilst every attempt has been made to provide accurate information on this site, it should be read "E&OE" - that's "Errors and Omissions Excepted". No responsibility is accepted for any errors, nor the consequences thereof. Having said that, PLEASE email me if I've missed anything vital out or got any of my facts wrong and I'll be very grateful and get right to it. Please let me know of any broken links or any new ones I should add too, please.

The views expressed on these pages are my personal view and do not necessarily reflect the view of any company or other entity. I am not affiliated to any political party or to any other groups which I would regard as a pressure group, but I'm not averse to speaking my own mind.

I've lived in Wiltshire for around 30 years - the last five years in Melksham. By profession, I'm a trainer in computer technologies and I spend about a half of my working life at our training centre in Melksham ... and the other half presenting courses throughout the British Isles, and overseas. I take the train when I can - especially if I'm training in London, or if I happen to be working near to the station in Oxford, Bristol or Newport to name but some places. Very often, though, there's no convenient public transport, and/or I have to carry equipment with me ... and then there's no alternative but to drive. You can read a mixture of my daily life and technical tips on "The Horse's Mouth" and even make comments back if you wish; I do enjoy learning from a lively debate.

As a company, Well House Consultants ("my" company, hosting this site) encourage our students to come on our courses by public transport; most of them come from a considerable distance, so that a group of (say) 2 students picked up of the 20:59 on Sunday night represents not only a good income for the branch line train, but also the mainline service from London, or York, or Bristol. It also help keep the roads just a little bit clearer and saves just a little bit of fossil fuel.
