Melksham station relocation
« on: December 22, 2005, 02:59:03 PM »

Slightly off topic and probably not sot something worth pursuing at this crucial time but I remember reading something about the possibility of Melksham station being relocated near to the bloor homes developement near Mcdonalds.  Does anyone remeber anything about this?

Hi, Nick ... space was left at the rear of the Bloor developments for a replacement station and I understand that funding was earmarked at the county for it. However, although it's still in the county plan I don't think it's funded anymore and Bloor Homes are now to provide access to a (potential?) road up to the current station location, which will include - as I recall - laybys for bus parking / waiting / loading.
