Train Cancellations and Short-formed trains for 2nd - 5th Jan 2007
« on: January 03, 2007, 04:02:28 PM »

FGW have taken the time to pre-warn everyone about some daily cancellations and short-formed trains for this week... see the link below

http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=703

This page summarises that a couple of trains in the early evening and one in the morning will be cancelled all week due to stock shortages, and that a handful of services including Cheltenham-Taunton, Westbury-Filton & Cardiff-Fareham - being formed of 2 carriages instead of 3/4.

Again, there are numerous updates on the FGW website.

How nice of them!  Roll Eyes To be serious, though, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first ever time long notice cancellations were made because of train shortages.

FGW were on Points West again tonight because of the fare rises, short forming and cancellations...and it's taking a lot longer than Andrew Griffiths said a month ago to get things to an adequate level. In fact, I'd say things are worse than ever...
