Starting the week with a cancellation
« on: December 18, 2006, 07:51:34 AM »

The 07:17 to Swindon had by far the best loading of any of the few remaining trains last week - and that was pretty poor.   So that's the one that's cancelled this morning along with other services on a differnt diagram.   "Staff Shortage" says the email; funny - you would think that with a reduction from 69 to 60 train sets on the fleet that runs our lines, First would have an adequate supply of staff ... or have they paired down their staffing as well to the extent that they can't cope on that front either?

I have not heard of any staff cutbacks.  I am sure they just use that as a generic reason as a cover up for something else.
