Recommended service - hourly, according to the GWRUS. Let's work towards that service and towards ensuring all services are used.

Christmas and New Year timetables
« on: December 20, 2010, 04:25:14 AM »

Service ran well yesterday in spite of fearsomely cold temperatures (thank you, FGW ... keep up the good work through this weather!)

For Christas Eve:

No service on Christmas Day or Boxing Day (25th and 26th December)

Monday, 27th to Friday, 31st December 2010:

1st to 4th January 2011

I note:

* An hour and 3 minutes scheduled from Chippehnam to Swindon on Christmas eve (misprint, bus, via Bristol, or waiting for single track?)
* No return trip options on 27th December or 3rd January (pity - they are perhaps some of the busiest shopping days of the year at the Swindon Outlet Centre?)
* Pretty much regular service between Christmas and New Year (not switching to Saturday service as in previous years)

Also very good to see this posted up on the sign at the top of the station approach, though not at the station itself which has the regular timetable sheet for Cardiff -> Portsmouth and a generic "check your trains at Christmas" with no clue that there's a notice telling you what they are about 150 yards away  Cheesy
