Aspiration list - stations
« on: March 28, 2010, 08:58:12 AM »

Here's that full list of aspirations / ideas of which I'm aware.  I've posted it at this time for completeness, as we enter a new phase.  You'll find detailed recent posts on Cosham and Wootton Bassett elsewhere

South Marston
Swindon - OPEN
Blagrove
Wootton Bassett
Chippenham - OPEN
Lacock
Melksham - OPEN but significantly underserved
Staverton and Holt
Trowbridge - OPEN
White Horse, Trowbridge
Westbury - OPEN
Dilton Marsh - OPEN but significantly underserved
Warminster - OPEN
Wylye
Wilton
Salisbury - OPEN
Petersfinger

May I also add "honourable mention" for

Corsham

Westbury - OPEN
Frome - OPEN but significantly underserved
Radstock

I have classified a station as "open but significantly underserved" if it has less than one train an hour. In this category, Frome is the most marginal case for inclusion (but then a relatively small extra service level would do wonders), and Melksham is the worst case - the current service is absurdly below what's needed at the fourth largest town in the county.
