Community Rail Partnership launch meeting - invites to politicians
« on: March 20, 2010, 05:14:22 PM »

We're launching the TransWilts Community Rail Partnership at a public meeting next Friday, in Trowbridge.  As it's a public meeting, anyone can of course come along and we welcome all.   Meeting details - start at http://www.transwilts.org.uk/whatis.html

Our campaign for better use of the TransWilts line has been apolitical and we fully intend it to remain so.  We have been delighted to count, amongst our supporters, people from right across the political spectrum, including MPs, MEPs, and candidates for parliament.

There's going to be a general election before or on 3rd June, and in the run up to that event, we're making doubly sure that the meeting remains apolitical and unbiased.  Our signed up supporters are all, irrespective of any political allegence, receiving an invite.  In addition, all of our declared local candidates are being invited, with a request to extend the invitation to their fellow candidates in other constituencies served by the TransWilts line.  And in spite of all this invitation work ... they will be free to ask questions and register support at the meeting, but we're not able to offer a speaking platform to any of them on this occasion.
