Swindon to Trowbridge ...

18:44 direct train from Swindon, 19:20 at Trowbridge - 36 minutes
19:00 train from Swindon, change at Bath, 19:53 at Trowbridge - 53 minutes
18:40 by private car from Swindon, arrive at Trowbridge at 19:43 - 63 minute journey

I tried that one rather late in the day ... for a time when all buses had left.  Here's an earlier bus for comparison (and I noticed that the road journey was given 73 minutes not 63 in the peak)

17:17 by direct bus ... arrive Trowbridge at 18:32 - 75 minutes
