Just thought I'd post this here for anyone who missed it at the Coffeeshop.
today (10th sept) the line is closed at Trowbridge thanks to a fire, so tonight's and most likely tomorrow morning's Melksham services will be cancelled. Services between Bath and Westbury are affected too, some trains are running between Bradford-on-avon and Bath.

As I am banned from there, I shall post the latest update I have here!
There is roughly a 2 hourly service currently serving Trowbridge (or at least visiting Trowbridge!). These trains generally seem to be the odd hours from Bristol TM in the stopping path (i.e 19.49). They are then forming the stopping service back, which in this case will be 20.44 from Trowbridge. Trains are serving Platform 1.....

Which never did happen. Serveral peak services started at Bradford this morning...

Many thanks, Graham and Jim, for the inputs / feedback on this. As far as the TransWilts services were concerned, they were cut back to Swindon which I'm sure was much more operatinally convenient to FGW than running to Melksham ... even though there couldn't have been anything else coming through while the train turned around from 19:11 to 19:50, or from 06:40 to 07:17.

I was slightly suprised that didn't actually happen, as the times would of worked, it would of not caused Swindon platform problems - but there we are.......

I was slightly suprised that didn't actually happen, as the times would of worked, it would of not caused Swindon platform problems - but there we are....... Since I made the comment, I've learned that is was planned to run the train down as far as Melksham, but then the plan changed for some reason. Hmm - odd. At times of crisis like this some odd things happen, and a decision or two which is illogical and rushed, but made with the best of intent, can be understood and forgiven. Much more worrying was the denial of passengers wanting to joint at Melksham a ride in the taxi because they didn't alreafy have tickets! which I find unacceptable - I would have gone through the roof had I been one of those passengers. Isn't it intersting, by the way, that only a taxi was put on the other night ... tonight the same train had 30 passengers to / from / via Melksham. Perhaps a lot of other passengers were sucessfully put off travelling the other day too.
