Three hundred metres of signal cable was torn up and stolen overnight on a major commuter and freight route (link below.) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7459635.stmHundreds of rail passengers and tonnes of cargo from Felixstowe Port were held up for nearly 12 hours after the Ely to Ipswich line was targetted. Services between Peterborough and Ipswich were suspended as Network Rail engineers worked to replace the cable. Train operator National Express East Anglia said services resumed on the line later.

That seems like an unlucky line - wasn't the Ely to Newmarket section closed for quite a while due to a freighht train being derailed at (and damaging) a bridge just outside Ely?
