Now I know this is old news but I must allow myself a wry smile at how plans for the regeneration of Hayle are always announced just as the country is about to plunge into recession. I remember visiting Hayle Library to inspect the De Savary plans in the 80s - very impressive with models and charts. Pity nobody ever gives any thought to the old place in years of relative prosperity when something might actually get done.
