Will the rolling stock companies ever be privatised? According to the Liberal democrats, it's this monopoly which makes maintainance costs so high for train companies...

There is a view among some that they are acting to keep lease prices higher than would be the case in a more competitive market. The ORR is due to decide soon whether to refer the market to the Competition Commission.
