Thieves struck in the early hours of Tuesday (March 18) - forcing their way into the entrance lobby of the station before taking the machine in a trolley.

British Transport Police Detective Sergeant David Gritton, who is leading the investigation, said the theft happened at about 2.40am.

The trolley used was later found at the back of the station.
