Wiltshire College is considering buying the Bowyers site after the factory closes at the end of the month (link below.)

The Pork Farms site is due to close next Friday and the college is eyeing it up for a town centre campus location for students.

West Wiltshire District Council has obtained support from the South West Regional Development Agency in retaining the factory as a key employment site.

This aspiration has the support of Bowyer's site management and Vision Capital, the new owners of the site.

The district council discussed the site during a scrutiny committee meeting on Wednesday.

It is not known whether the college intends to bring all its campuses under one roof if it takes on the Bowyer's site.
