Action Plan For The Five West Wiltshire Towns
« on: March 17, 2008, 11:06:06 PM »

Talks will take place this week to look at ways in which the five towns of west Wiltshire can continue to fight for funds for regeneration projects (link below.)

When the new Wiltshire unitary authority begins in April next year, the towns of Trowbridge, Melksham, Bradford on Avon, Westbury and Warminster will have to compete with 19 others for extra cash.

The existing Five Towns Initiative, which is organised by West Wiltshire District Council, will no longer apply and council chief are now considering whether a similar scheme can operate beyond 2009.

One proposal includes the formation of a West Wiltshire Partnership to meet every six months in a bid to promote the towns in a bid to attract investment opportunities.
