New Minature Train Honours Wiltshire Train Driver
« on: March 13, 2008, 04:19:09 PM »

A train driver from Wiltshire who was killed in the Selby rail disaster is to be commemorated by a miniature railway locomotive. A train at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, near Keynsham, has been named after Stephen Dunn (link below.)

Mr Dunn, whose family live in Trowbridge, was one of 10 people killed in February 2001 in Yorkshire.

The owner of the park's Strawberry Line Miniature railway, Mike Bass, is a former colleague of Mr Dunn.

He has honoured him by adding a five-inch gauge locomotive to his fleet. It is a miniature version of main line locomotive number 66526 and has been painted in the correct operating company branding of Freightliner.

The miniature railway is open for a new season. Further details are available by calling Mr Bass on 07960 151286.
