Recommended service - hourly, according to the GWRUS. Let's work towards that service and towards ensuring all services are used.

Staverton Halt
« on: March 02, 2008, 01:17:36 PM »

Chippenham - Lacock - Beanacre - Melksham - Broughton Gifford - Holt - Staverton - Trowbridge.   Thus was the service in days gone by before Dr Beeching came along and closed down all but Chippenham and Trowbridge, and reduced the TransWilts line at it's lowest point to a single train each way on Summer Saturdays.

Here's a picture I came across yesterday. Strickly speaking, this is a photograph of the wall of the waiting room in Bradford-on-Avon station on 1st March 2008 at 07:30, but really it shows - very grainy - Staverton Halt in the early 1960s.
