Nice to see that on the Crossrail link that the route from Maidenhead to Reading is being 'safeguarded' should future expansion of Crossrail be deemed appropriate to this more logical terminus.

Worded very carefully to ensure that there is no cause for further delay to the commencement of works, of course, but I would not be too surprised to see the opinions of the westerly terminus change over the next few years.

And if they do run the wires to Reading perhaps there would be a better business case to extend them to Bristol at a later date?

Almost £2bn of taxpayers' cash is being given to London Underground to cover the collapse of the private maintenance firm. A total of £1.7bn will be used to pay back the amount lenders made available to the company, which went into administration last July.
