Seven train stations across Merseyside are to get £1.76m worth of investment to improve access (link below.)

The cost of the project is being financed by the Department for Transport (DfT) and Merseytravel.

Improvements will include installing adjustable ticket counters, customer information systems, accessible toilets and extra seats and waiting areas.

Merseytravel said the work would start as soon as possible so the maximum amount of people could benefit.

The seven stations benefitting from the cash are Bidston, New Brighton, Southport, Wallasey Grove Road and Wallasey Village on the Merseyrail Electrics network and Newton le Willows and St Helens Junction on Northern Rail's City Line.
