Full report: "This train has been diverted.It will additionally call at: Swindon, Chippenham, Melksham and Trowbridge.It will no longer call at: Theale, Thatcham, Newbury, Kintbury, Hungerford, Bedwyn and Pewsey.This is due to flooding earlier. "

It would be extremely sensible to run Frome to Paddington via Melksham every morning - EXCEPT it might lead to an unacceptable gap in service or lack of seats via Newbury. I've not looked at the timetable for each of the intermediate stations that that From calls at, but I'm certain that a direct service from the County town to and from Paddington would be a winner. |

And they've now gone and cancelled the extra service but not re-instated our own trains, leaving Melksham with no service at all! |
