Continuing cancellations due to crew shortage

Does anyone have any current information on the problems of crew on FGW regional services, particularly on the Cardiff-Portsmouth / Southampton-Swindon lines?

I heard from a fellow traveller this morning that the trains that arrive at Salisbury between 0700 and 0800 are persistently cancelled.  Another has taken to getting a service at about 0630 to get to work in Portsmouth on time!

Are crew leaving in droves or is this a staff timetabling problem?
