New interiors and liveries
« on: November 13, 2007, 03:21:20 PM »

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get on a newly-refurbished 158, travelling to Southampton from Salisbury.  The interior is nice and clean, very much brighter and the upholstery on the seats and tables brand new and good quality.

My criticisms:

1. There seem to be no flip-out tables on the paired seats.  Where to put the super-heated coffee from the rail station??
2. The chairs are super uncomfortable.  Like the new fleets SW Trains have introduced they have not thought about good ergonomics.  I found myself with lower back-ache within 15 minutes unless I wriggled about.  They lean far too far back.  I wonder who designed these seats?
