Swindon Borough Council To Cut 200 Jobs

About 200 job losses were announced by council chiefs in Swindon last night as part of a major cost-cutting operation (link below.)

Ironically , it coincided with an announcement by the Swindon-based Nationwide Building Society that it was looking to recruit 200 people to extend its call centre in the town , rising to a total of 600 posts by 2010.
