"Subway", the very successful sandwich restaurant franchise, have just opened a new outlet in Melksham, and significantly it's on the A350 trunk road just as you leave the town's built up area and head for the village of Beanacre.    That's a vote of confidence in the traffic (and continued traffic) passing along that section of road.   Indeed, yesterday it was nose to tail already.



Picture taken outside Subway yesterday (Saturday, 1st September) looking south.   Traffic levels at this point are significant to observer, since it's the very end of the town and ALL the traffic heading past is travelling BEWTEEN towns and villages and not WITHIN any one of them.    You'll notice mostly cars ... so that's passengers and not freight.
