From the FGW website :

17:28 Cheltenham Spa to Westbury due 19:25
This train has been cancelled. This is due to signalling problems.

But the train arrived at Chippenham at 19.02, I came off the 18.55 at Chippenham from Bristol TM. I did not catch it as I was being picked up in Chippenham

 Undecided

The reports tend to give a snapshot and have some inaccuracies .... certainly the TranWilts services suffer a far higher proportion of cancellations that 'most any other.   It's a shame when something is announced as cancelled then runs ... I suspect it has a major effect on confidence and loading.    On the other hand, if they are "pretty well sure" a train is cancelled, better to announce it early rather than have people needlessly inconvenienced - those odd occasions (rare but not unique) of a service being restored are inevitable.
