If you were listening to BBC Radio Wiltshire on the wireless this morning you may of heard my voice!
On the breakfast show Matthew and Tory were asking listeners what they would do to improve their local town. They were also asking the question 'What do Salisbury, Trowbridge and Melksham all have that Calne does not?' and inviting listeners to phone in with suggestions. Some people rang in with 'a woolworths' or 'a hospital' as ideas so I decided I would phone in with the obvious answer 'a railway station!'
This proved to be the correct answer so I was able to speak to Matthew and Tory on air. Matthew did talk about Melksham station and the limited number of services available. Unfortunately I was not able to publicise the campaign against the reduction in services but at least Melksham station got a mention and perhaps a few more folk in Wiltshire may now know they can travel to it or use the line through.
