Thanks. I used to post stories from here regularly , but there are so many that I would have been in danger of swamping the Save The Train site! I use a more selective "Greater Britain" approach these days.

I found that a fascinating read (and wasted rather more tome on it that I really have!) ... thanks for the link.    There was a comment on the front page of that site about some of the story / links becoming inaccessible, and the lack of a search facility;   oh help - that could be yet another powerful hole to be filled.
