MTLS to House of Commons
« on: June 25, 2007, 11:45:58 AM »

Just for info, MTLS partcipated as a speaker in a RMT sponsored seminar at the House of commons last week.
Around 80 people there, and a good number of MP's and lords and ladies.
Not sure what we gained, other than raising the profile of the issue and making contacts, and putting No Way To Run a Railway Day on the map, though date is still to be confirmed.
This is to be a national day of action by travellers, and it's success entirely depends on local groups taking coordinated action on the same day. There will be a fair deal of autonomy, so exactly what happens locally will be up to local commuters, but publicity will be national, and most probably international too.
More on this later
