I travelled home from London on the 17:30 from Paddington - yes, that's the ONLY remaining train of the day with a connection to Melksham - and I took advantage of that service to avoid having to transfer across to a bus or taxi in Chippenham, or call up a lift.

There were 13 passengers on the train from Swindon; one got off at Chippenham and two more joined.  Four got off at Melksham, and one more joined.

It's a sad cry from the booming service last year (but that ran an hour earlier). Two thirds of the traffic has gone ...
