Hi,  I'm mark and I am 25 years old.  I live and work in Melksham and use public transport as I cannot drive yet.  I find the station at Melksham easier to get to than Bath or Chippenham and try and start my train journeys from Melksham as much as possible.

Instead of cutting the service, the holder of the Greater Western franchise should build it up to a more regular service and in time upgrade the station at Melksham and run 2 lines as was originally the case.

Hi, Mark

In total agreement with you concerning a REGULAR service ... we [wide variety of parties] got together at an open meeting last Tuesday and agreed that the service should not be cut; very much in favour of a reliable, regular service with good connections.   I fear that the expense of doubling the line would rule that out in the foreseeable future, but we have worked out that a quite frequent single train service could be run at not much more cost that the proposed amputated one which appears to call for a train that would be used at the peak hour then perhaps parked up all day!

We've another meeting this coming Tuesday; if you'd like to be involved (perhaps surverying, campaining, writing to people ... lots of other things might need to be done) let me know - my email is graham@wellho.net.  The meeting is in Melksham - if it turns out to be on the opposiet side of town to you, I can pick up / drop off!   - Graham
