Voyager To Run On West Somerset Railway
« on: February 09, 2007, 12:33:23 PM »

A Virgin CrossCountry Voyager train will contrast the latest in West Country rail travel with the past glory of steam when it runs from Bristol to Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway during two Spring Steam Gala weekends in March (link below)

On Saturdays and Sundays during the weekends , March 17/18 and 24/25 , the state-of-the-art Voyager will leave Bristol Temple Meads and call at Weston-super-Mare and Taunton before connecting with an historic steam train at Bishops Lydeard for journeys to Minehead.

Excellent ... good public relations / marketing / encouragement.

I find myself wondering about a Sunday Summer excursion from Swindon, Chippenham and Melksham to Weymouth .... do you think our local t.o.c. could spare us a 158?   Perhaps attach it to another service at Westbury if they're concerned at single track occupancy?
