What's where on this site?

You're in the user forum section of the "Save The Train" web site, which is dedicated to efforts to ensure that the Swindon to Westbury Salisbury and Southampton train service continues to run at a level that's appropriate to the needs of the area it serves.

The current service is 5 trains a day each way ... but traffic has grown by 35% per annum in each of the five years, and I believe that the most appropriate service for the First group (who take over the line on 1st April) to offer would be 8 trains per day - operationally, that's a single train providing a Swindon <----> Westbury service.   County Council studies show a justification for an increased service onward to Salisbury, and many current users travel (example) Chippenham to Salisbury.  I would be delighted to see a two-train service running Swindon to Salisbury but I'm not very knowledgable of the Westbury / Dilton Marsh / Warminster / Salisbury section so I've left than as an open possibility.

This is the USER FORUM which you'll find open for general discussions

The DAILY UPDATE is where I write on a very regule basis - comments are very welcome but it's less of a discussion arera and more of a newsfeed.

We've also got TIMETABLE AND SERVICE information available.

If you're looking for a QUICK INTRODUCTION AND UPDATE, have a look at the home page of the site

and if you're seeking DETAILS OF THE CASE I'M PUTTING then that's available too.

Finally, if you want to SIGN UP TO SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN, we've got a page for the purpose.
