The Courts, Holt, Wiltshire

Near the top of Station Road, Holt, is "The Courts". A National Trust property built in Georgian times, the gardens are beautiful and open throughout the summer.

The station at Holt was CLOSED in 1966 and has not been re-opened, though the Parkman report suggested a new station close by at Holt / Staverton, and our trains continue to pass through the old station site.    Access these days from the Swindon to Westbury Service is via MELKSHAM station; occasional bus services 37 / 237 onwards, or a walk of about 3 miles.
