Would you like 6 trains a day each way, or just 2, next year? Draft timetables which will be implemented with sufficient public and political support have been prepared bt First Great Western, validated by Network Rail, and run through the County Council for whom this is a strategic route in their current local transport plan - see box above.

Capacity improved at Swindon

Station capacity at Swindon has been improved with the provision of an extra platform and former operational difficulties that have lead to capacity are reliability issues should be a thing of the past. The train service to Melksham should not be reduced after these improvements have been made based on any statistics gathered prior to (or immediatley after) they were made.
