Goodbye & Good Luck To Pete Jobson/Hello To Glynn Beck
« on: July 05, 2010, 02:31:01 PM »

Pete Jobson is now Duty Manager at Bristol Temple Meads, and Glynn Beck (formerly Chippenham Station Manager) now has responsibility for the entire TransWilts route, along with Heart of Wessex.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing Pete all the best for the future, given the sterling job he has done managing stations in this part of the world for a number of years.

A warm welcome to Glynn Beck, who I hope to speak with very soon.

All the very best, indeed, Pete.  Couldn't happen to a nicer man.  Don't I recall that one of the former Duty Managers rose all the way to MD of FGW? ... you're on the high flyer track  Cheesy

Glynn, welcome to the TransWilts south of Chippenam.   I've always admired the friendly and team that you've had there (Westbury is excellent too - perhaps it's a Wiltshire thing!) - I look forward to seeing you around and working with you.

Just got off the phone with Glynn Beck - very positive conversation.

The way the structure works, Glynn is actually Pete's boss - his is an over-arching role that covers the whole of our area. Therefore, he is in effect just filling in until a replacement is found.

He was very keen to stress though that he will play his part in the projects that we have been working together with Pete on - and he wants to help bring them to fruition.

While returning home from the West of England Partnership transport meeting in Bristol today, who should I bump into, on platform 4 at Temple Meads, but Pete Jobson!

I wished him well in his new role, and we agreed that we will certainly be able to move on with our various CRP projects and ideas with his successor, Glynn Beck, who is also very supportive of them.
