Passengers are being asked to be patient as railway tracks through Lincoln are closed until 3 September 2007 as part of the £55m revamp (link below.)

Faster, direct commuter buses will run between Sleaford and Lincoln at peak times.
Meanwhile , officials have predicted the new direct rail service to London will be a huge economic boost to Lincolnshire (link below.)

But they have accepted care must be taken to avoid Lincoln becoming a dormitory town for the capital.
Passengers may make a permanent switch away from Lincoln train station due to a summer closure, bosses have admitted. Rail services will be disrupted for six weeks while work is carried out to modernise the track and signals and upgrade the level crossing (link below.)

The company is planning a publicity campaign to persuade people to return.
The final phase of a £55m project to renew the station area will see it close on 19 July and reopen on 1 September.
The level crossing on High Street will also close from 7 August to 16 August.
Network Rail said the work was vital to bring signalling equipment up to modern standards.
